We are proud to announce that our dearest founder, Luis Garden Acosta, was honored this May by RAICES at their gala. The award was accepted by our own Dr. Frances Lucerna, Co-founder & Executive Director.
The presentation included these lovely words by Lisette Sosa-Dickson, the Executive Director of the Spanish Speaking Elderly Council – RAICES:
Luis embodied the love, compassion, sacrifice, and dedication many of us strive to provide to our community through our daily work.
The mission of both organizations have been intentional about providing critical services and access to quality resources to improve the lives of their respective constituents…
We are confident that the leadership of El Puente will continue to keep his spirit and legacy very much alive through their continued work within the community.
Community-based organizations like RAICES will also continue to be intentional about our work to uplift marginalized communities not only in Brooklyn but throughout the country.
