On Friday, January 20th, El Puente Beacon members Leslie Malin (MS50-El Puente Community School) and Percaiz Cordero (Brooklyn Arbor) performed their original composition "CoCo Mango Cherry" accompanied by the award-winning New York Philharmonic Orchestra at Lincoln Center! Leslie and Percaiz performed two shows to a crowd of nearly 4,000 NYC public school students under the leadership of Very Young Composer Teaching Artist, Angelica Negron.
Last year, Leslie and Percaiz were among five Beacon members selected to be part of the Very Young Composers Program - VYC bridges the creativity of children and the world of classical music. The partnership between El Puente,Very Young Composers, and National Sawdust will resume in February with Stephanie Garcia as our resident lead artist.
Congratulations, to our composers Leslie and Percaiz! ¡Wepa!
