Congratulations to the 2017 El Puente Van Lier Arts for Social Justice Fellows

February 7, 2017

In recognition of El Puente's long-standing, stellar pre-professional arts programming, we were recently awarded the prestigious New York Community Trust Van Lier Fellowship Grant providing eight of our aspiring high school and middle school students scholarships to receive intensive pre-professional arts instruction and mentoring, as well as the opportunity to apply to professional programs and competitive schools for the arts. This award will allow El Puente to build on the success of our previous Van Lier Fellowship, through which four members of El Puente's high school program were able to pursue advanced opportunities in dance and musical theater.

The following students were chosen for this year's Van Lier Fellowship because of their immense talent, passion and need for the Fellowship to help propel them toward their dreams. We are so honored to have these young people begin this journey with us and are committed to helping them rise! Congratulations to everyone who has given to the light of each of these youth:
